    Spanish Language Growth Trends

    Let’s crunch some numbers! What follows is a roundup of Hispanic demographic growth trends, from advertising spend to Spanish-speakers online.

    - Huge growth online. The number of Spanish speaking Internet users has grown 650.9% in the last eight years, from 2000-2009. (Internet World Stats, 2010)

    - Quite a social group! According to data from Quantcast.com, the most popular social media sites among Hispanics are YouTube.com (15 million monthly Hispanic visitors), followed by MySpace.com (8.8 million monthly Hispanic visitors), and Facebook.com (6.2 million monthly Hispanic visitors).

    - By the numbers. 46 million Hispanics live in the U.S. This market segment wields a buying power that totaled more than $980 billion in 2008 and is projected to reach $1.3 billion in 2013, according to a study by market research publisher Packaged Facts.

    - B-to-B, the place to be. The number of Hispanic-owned businesses in the United States is expected to grow 41.8 percent over the next six years to 4.3 million (in 2012), with total revenues surging 39 percent to more than $539 billion.
