After the recent earthquake in Haiti, the social media platform twitter quickly updated people on the status of the country, survivors, the missing, and relief needs. The world responded and was able to immediately start aiding the relief efforts via a simple text. As of January 17, donations made via mobile phones for Haiti earthquake relief have passed $16 million.

UNICEF requests donations for relief for children in Haiti via their Haiti Earthquake Fund or by calling 1-800-4UNICEF.
International Medical Corps is providing medical care and other emergency services to survivors of the earthquake. Donate online.
CARE is focusing their efforts on the health of children, distributing water sanitation tablets, food, and emergency healthcare. Donate online.
